Driving Lessons in Barford, Warwickshire

Barford sits roughly three miles south of Warwick on the River Avon, and the A429 bypass runs past it — close enough that it cuts Westham House off from the village itself. For a learner that layout is unusually well balanced: a quiet village core for the early hours, a proper A-road a moment away, and hedged lanes in every other direction.

Wellesbourne Road is the main road through the village, with Westham Lane running off it. The streets around St Peter’s Church — 14th century in origin though largely rebuilt in 1844 — and Barford St Peter’s primary school give you narrow, parked-both-sides driving with real pedestrian activity, particularly at school times. The rural driving is the part worth paying attention to. The main road past the village. Higher speeds, longer sightlines, and joining and leaving at speed. Also the route north into Warwick, so it doubles as test-area preparation.

The lanes towards the river and the surrounding farmland

From Barford the run north to Wedgnock Lane goes up the A429 and round Warwick, so the higher-speed work happens on the way to every lesson in the test area.
