Kenilworth · After you pass
Pass Plus in Kenilworth is a six-hour post-test course covering town, all-weather, rural, night, dual carriageway and motorway driving. Drive With Issy charges £300, there is no test at the end, and the motorway module runs on the M40 or the M6, both a short drive from the A46.
Delivered by Issy, a fully qualified DSA-approved instructor. Teaching since 2021, 500+ learners taught, 5-star Google rated. Part of the wider driving lessons in Kenilworth coverage.
Send your postcode and when you passed. Issy replies personally with the next available block.

Pass Plus is a DVSA scheme with a fixed structure: six modules, at least six hours in total, and normally at least five and a half of those hours actually driving. What changes from one driving school to the next is where the modules happen. Here is where they happen from Kenilworth.
| Module | What it covers | Where it runs from Kenilworth |
|---|---|---|
| Town | Lane discipline, pedestrians, complex junctions, reading traffic in tight space | Abbey End and Smalley Place, then Warwick town centre through Saltisford, Northgate and The Butts |
| All weather | Stopping distances, spray, low sun, aquaplaning and skid awareness | Judged on the day. If the roads are dry it is covered as briefing rather than practical, and flagged as such |
| Rural roads | Bends, limited visibility, passing places, mud and horses | Rouncil Lane and Birches Lane, then out towards Balsall Common and the lanes west of the A452 |
| Night | Headlight use, dazzle, judging speed and distance in the dark | Kenilworth town and the A452 corridor after dark, usually a winter evening session |
| Dual carriageways | Joining, lane choice, overtaking, and leaving at speed | The A46 Warwick Bypass and Stanks Island, and the A45 towards Coventry |
| Motorways | Slip roads, merging, lane discipline, smart motorway signage and services | The M40 at Longbridge Island near Warwick, or the M6 at Coventry — both a short run down the A46 |
Module content follows the DVSA specification for the scheme — see our Pass Plus course page for the national overview.
£300 for the full six-hour course. That is the published rate and it is the same across Kenilworth, Warwick and Leamington Spa, including the drive out to the dual carriageway and motorway sections rather than charging for it separately.
| Course or lesson | Price |
|---|---|
| Pass Plus, 6 hours | £300 |
| 1.5 hour lesson | £75 |
| 2 hour lesson | £90 |
| 6 hour block | £270 |
| 10 hour block | £450 |
Source: the published Drive With Issy price list — see prices. Prices are reviewed by the business, so check before booking. A six-hour block of ordinary lessons is £270, so Pass Plus carries a £30 premium for the structured modules, the motorway miles and the completion certificate.
No test, and a maybe on the insurance. Both answers come straight from GOV.UK rather than from a driving school’s sales page, and it is worth having them clear before you book.
GOV.UK is explicit: you will not take a test, but you will be assessed throughout the course, and you must reach the required standard in all six modules for the course to count as completed. In practice that means each module gets signed off as you go, and if something needs more time you get more time rather than a fail.
GOV.UK says Pass Plus may help you get a car insurance discount if you successfully complete the course. That wording is deliberate. Some insurers recognise the certificate, some do not, and the size of any reduction varies by insurer and by driver. Ring your own insurer with the question before you book, not after — if yours does not recognise it, the case for doing Pass Plus is the driving, not the premium.
GOV.UK notes it can be taken at any time although it should be most useful to new drivers in the year after passing their test. Most Kenilworth drivers who book it do so within a few months of passing, usually because a new job means motorway miles or a commute down the A46 that they have never driven alone.
Both are post-test, both are one-to-one, and both are booked by drivers who have a licence but not the confidence to match it. They solve different problems, and the wrong one is an expensive way to find that out.
| Pass Plus | Refresher lessons | |
|---|---|---|
| Structure | Fixed DVSA scheme, six set modules | Open. You choose what to work on |
| Length | At least six hours in total | As many or as few hours as you want |
| Cost | £300 for the course | £75 for 1.5 hours, £270 for a six-hour block |
| Certificate | Yes, on completing all six modules | No |
| Possible insurance discount | Sometimes, depending on the insurer | No |
| Best for | Recently passed, and about to drive motorways, dual carriageways or at night for the first time | Passed a while ago, out of practice, or nervous about one specific thing |
If you passed years ago rather than months ago, refresher driving lessons in Kenilworth are usually the better value. If you passed recently and the motorway is the thing keeping you off it, Pass Plus is the one.
Standard one-to-one automatic tuition, if you are still working towards the test rather than past it.
30 hours including the practical test at Warwick, for anyone who has not passed yet and wants it done in blocks.
If confidence rather than skill is the obstacle, and Pass Plus would be starting too far up the ladder.

A reviewer who had recently moved to Warwickshire wrote that the lessons helped them get familiar with the local roads, and that they still apply what they were taught on their daily commute.
No. GOV.UK states you will not take a test but you will be assessed throughout the course, and you have to reach the required standard in all six modules to complete it. Your instructor signs off each module as you go.
At least six hours, of which normally at least five and a half hours are spent driving. In Kenilworth it is usually split across two or three sessions rather than done in one day, because the night module needs darkness and the motorway module needs a sensible traffic window.
£300 for the six-hour course, the same rate as across the Warwick and Leamington Spa coverage area. That is the published Drive With Issy price and it includes the drive out to the dual carriageway and motorway sections.
It might. GOV.UK says it may help you get a car insurance discount if you successfully complete the course. Some insurers offer one and some do not, and the size varies, so check with your own insurer before you book rather than assuming a saving.
Yes. Drive With Issy teaches in a fully electric automatic, and Pass Plus is completed in the same category of vehicle you are licensed to drive. Your certificate is valid the same way.
GOV.UK says it can be taken at any time, but should be most useful to new drivers in the year after passing their test. In practice most Kenilworth drivers book it within a few months of passing, while the habits are still forming.
The A46 gives you the M40 at Longbridge Island near Warwick in one direction and the M6 at Coventry in the other, so both are a short run from Kenilworth. Which one is used depends on the time of day and the traffic.
GOV.UK notes that all modules should be practical sessions, although local conditions may mean some are theory based. If the roads are dry, the all-weather module is covered as briefing and discussion, and it is flagged as such.
Send your postcode and roughly when you passed, and you will get the next available six-hour block and a plan for which module runs when. If the motorway is the reason you are reading this, that is the part we build the course around.
